Total home makeover

Welcome to our townhouse finally finished. One year of design, planning, bidding, permitting (we're in a landmark district, so we had to go trough and it was such a process). And then two years to do the total renovation.The only thing in here that´s still from the original house are the initial moldings that frame the massive doorways. We redid  everything, we ripped this house down to the studs, opened up the floors, opened up the ceilings, opened up the walls  to make the rooms feel  bigger and wider – Brownstone homes are essentially narrow. A small terrace with a 360-degree view of the city was created on the roof, as well as an elevator connecting all floors, not only for comfort, but also for convenience when we are no longer in such good physical shape.

Komplette Renovierung

Willkommen in unserem fertigen Stadthaus. Ein Jahr Design, Planung, Ausschreibung und Genehmigungsverfahren (wir wohnen in einem denkmalgeschützten Viertel, also mussten wir da durch, und es war ein ziemlich langer Prozess). Und dann zwei Jahre der Komplettrenovierung. Das Einzige, was hier noch vom Originalhaus stammt, sind die ursprünglichen Stuckleisten, die die massiven Türen einrahmen. Wir haben alles erneuert, das Haus bis auf die Balken abgerissen, Böden, Decken und Wände geöffnet, damit die Räume größer und weiter wirken – Brownstone-Häuser sind im Grunde schmal. Wir bauten auf dem Dach eine kleine Terrasse mit 360°- Blick über die Stadt und ein Aufzug, der alle Stockwerke verbindet – nicht nur für mehr Komfort, sondern auch behindertengerecht, wenn wir körperlich nicht mehr fit sind.

Całkowita metamorfoza domu

Witamy w naszym ukończonym domu. Rok projektowania, planowania, przetargów i uzyskiwania pozwoleń (mieszkamy w zabytkowej dzielnicy, więc musieliśmy przez to przejść, a to był dość długi proces). A potem dwa lata gruntownego remontu. Z pierwotnego domu pozostała tylko oryginalna sztukateria wieńcząca masywne drzwi. Wymieniliśmy wszystko, rozbierając dom aż do belek, otwierając podłogi, sufity i ściany, aby pokoje wydawały się większe i bardziej przestronne – domy tego typu są w zasadzie wąskie. Zbudowaliśmy mały taras na dachu z 360-stopniowym widokiem na miasto i windę łączącą wszystkie piętra – nie tylko dla wygody ale także mysląc o przyszłości, gdy nie będziemy już w dobrej formie fizycznej.
